SANA'A – President Ali Abdullah Saleh concluded a comprehensive tour throughout the city of Sana'a this morning. The city has returned to state of calm, according to an eyewitness who saw the presidential motorcade as it passed through the streets of the city.

Shops, restaurants and offices have opened for business as usual. However, peaceful gatherings have been reported in some parts of the city.

Security apparatus, anti-riot police and tanks remain on full alert in positions across the city to ensure a repeat of yesterday's looting and vandalism does not occur. Informed sources revealed to the Observer that several main instigators of yesterday's demonstrations have been apprehended.
